A 20-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday after sending a message in a university group chat that reportedly caused widespread fear and panic.
According to police, Jared Courtright threatened to “strap a bomb” to his chest and attend class, a message witnessed by several students. The disturbing communication led to his arrest by UToledo Campus Police on February 25.
Courtright has been charged with Making Terroristic Threats and Inducing Panic. Court records show that he appeared before a judge on February 26, who set an SOR bond for him.
